SJCBI gears up for PACUCOA accreditation

The SJCBI Task Force Accreditation Team ramps up their efforts preparing for the first Level 1 Remote Virtual Accreditation by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) come December 17-18, 2020.

Despite the situation brought about Covid-19 outbreak, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Director, Dr. Roy Tumaneng encouraged the whole team to work as one to realize the Level 1 accreditation for the seven (7) programs: Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, High School Department and Elementary Department.

The Vice-President for Academics emphasized in one of the Task Force meetings the value of delivering quality work.

“We (SJCBI) have no choice but to embrace quality if we want to be globally competitive, on par with international Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Quality should be at the center of everything we do, embedded in our day-to-day academic and administrative functions,” Tumaneng said.

The SJCBI Task Force Accreditation Team meets for the preparation of Level 1 Acrreditation

Preparation is tough considering the guidelines and health protocols in schools set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). However, the institution, in its aim to provide quality education and pass the Level 1 accreditation, has strategized working hours for teachers and staff to comply with the protocols and still accomplish their assigned tasks for PACUCOA.

The gathering of information and consolidation of pertinent documents, chiefly the recommendations of the accreditors during the preliminary visit, keeps the working group on their toes. The Deans and Principals across departments were instructed to exert more time on the said papers.
