Program Aims (PAs)

The BSBA program aims to:

  1. Provide students with a coherent body of knowledge in business and human resource management;
  2. Develop the students’ critical thinking abilities in decision making and in performing the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing, leading and controlling;
  3. Equip the students with skills to manage strategic business unit or organization for economic sustainability and manage conflict in the workplace;
  4. Prepare the students for lifelong-learning by stimulating their interests, upgrading their skills and encouraging autonomous learning; and,
  1. Produce professional Human Resource Managers who are ever mindful of the Josephian values of faith, communion and service.

Program Intended Learning Outcomes (PILOs)

  1. Knowledge, Skills & Values

Upon completion of the program, the graduates should be able to:

A1. Analyse the business environment for strategic direction; demonstrate fundamental knowledge and application of management concepts and approaches including the four managerial functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling organizational resources;

A2. Evaluate ethical principles and apply tools and techniques in management decision making and in solving problems; and

A3. Select the proper decision making tools to critically, analytically and creatively solve problems and drive results.

 

  1. Application

Upon completion of the program, the graduates should be able to:

B1. Prepare comprehensive strategic business plan and implement business related activities;

B2. Conduct business research and feasibility studies; and

B3. Perform the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling.

 

  1. Degree of Independence

Upon completion of the program, the graduates should be able to:    

C1.Synthesize ideas, theories and data in developing solutions to business and managerial problems;

C2. Demonstrate corporate citizenship and social responsibility; and

C3. Exercise high personal moral and ethical standards
